Our Winery of the Month for June is Dominio IV Wines who produce Chardonnay, Viognier, and Riesling as well as Pinot noir, Grenache, Syrah, Tempranillo & Red Blends. We will be featuring two of their wines by the glass all month long.
We will be hosting a Six Feet Apart Tasting of their wine at Red Hills Market on FRIDAY, JUNE 11 FROM 12 - 3 PM
about the winery:
“Dominio IV is Latin for a feast or a celebration and that is just how we hope you will enjoy our wines. We produce small lot Syrah and Tempranillo from our Three Sleeps Estate Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge as well as site-driven Pinot noir grown in the Willamette Valley and Viognier farmed at high-elevation sites in the Rogue Valley. We look forward to hosting you by appointment at our 170 year old farm in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA or our Three Sleeps Vineyard Bed and Breakfast in Mosier, Oregon.”
tasting notes:
2014 Technicolor Bat | Tempranillo/Syrah Blend with a kicker of Grenache
Columbia Gorge AVA (Mosier, OR)
Three Sleeps Estate Vineyard
30% New American Oak
18 months elevage
The 2014 “Technicolor Bat” showcases aromatics of plum, saddle leather, dried fig, peppercorn, and cocoa nibs. On the palate, we are greeted by cherry, cedar bark, espresso and baking spice, combined with balanced acidity and notable tannin structure. This wine is wonderful with foods from paella to pizza!
2020 Still Life | 100% Viognier
Rogue Valley AVA (Talent, OR)
Sundown/Fort Miller Vineyards
100% Neutral French Oak
15% Malolactic Fermentation
6 months elevage
The 2020 “Still Life” gives us a beautiful balance between acidity and texture. Hailing from vineyards around 2,000 feet in elevation, we are able to retain tension on the palate, while letting the naturally full body of the Viognier grape provide a refreshing, yet satiating experience. Aromatics of lemon zest, jasmine, and honeysuckle foreshadow the ripe citrus and stone-fruited palate.
