Our Winery of the Month for November is Chehalem Winery, known for single-vineyard Pinot Noirs and a variety of white wines, crafted in a winemaking style to emphasize balance, elegance and texture. We will be featuring their 2018 Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir by the glass all month long.
We will be hosting a Six Feet Apart Tasting of their wine at Red Hills Market on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13 FROM 12 - 3 PM
tasting notes:
Aromatic notes of fresh blue and red fruits jump out of the glass, with subtle hints of brambly earth and spice lingering as you pull away. The palate is bright, showing red fruits that are complemented by soft, silky tannins and a vibrant finish.

about the winery:
“We consider ourselves a vineyard winery, aiming to reflect what the vineyard has produced, purely, with minimal processing and without compromising great fruit. Our name, Chehalem, translates to Valley of Flowers in the Native American language, Calapooia. It’s our goal to follow the example set centuries ago: to treat our land with great care and to continue our mission of creating a sustainable future. Our story starts in 1990 with the inaugural Pinot Noir harvest at Ridgecrest Vineyard. As those wines were releasing in 1993, Bill Stoller joined as co-owner. He subsequently purchased his family farmlands at the southern tip of the Dundee with the vision of planting it as our second estate vineyard. In 1995, we purchased Corral Creek, the vineyard surrounding the winery. It became our third estate vineyard.
In early 2018, Bill became the sole owner of Chehalem, and by July, we had become the sixth Oregon winery to achieve B Corp status. This rigorous certification assesses companies to ensure they meet the highest standard of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.”
