wine:

Rose of Pinot Noir 2024 - BTG $12 BTL 34

TASTING NOTES:

Produced with sustainably farmed fruit all coming from our Dundee Hills Estate Vineyard, the fruit is farmed intentionally for Rose production, direct pressed after picking, hence its vibrant hue, and 100% free run juice. Fermentation and aging was done in puncheon barrels and concrete to give this wine its textural nuance and brightness.

Three Hills Chardonnay 2022  - BTG $12 BTL 34

TASTING NOTES:

The fruit for this wine comes from some of the oldest sites we farm for Chardonnay including our Dundee Hills Lange Estate Vineyard and the renowned Freedom Hill Vineyard. Made of 100% Dijon clones, this wine fermented and aged in a combination of 40% concrete and 60% new and aged French Oak barrels. A classic Chardonnay with bright fruit character and a well-defined acid backbone, this wine sees just a touch of malolactic fermentation and new oak displaying beautiful balance and expressiveness.

Three Hills Cuvee Pinot Noir 2022 - BTG $12 BTL 34

TASTING NOTES:

Like our Chardonnay, the Three Hills Pinot Noir comes from some of our best, most established vineyards including our Dundee Hills Lange Estate Vineyard, the renowned Freedom Hill Vineyard and a few other blue ribbon sites we partner with.  Made of a combination of Dijon and traditional clones, this small production wine is aged in a combination of new and neutral French oak barrels, and brings together a classic array of soil-type, elevation and clonal selection to express some of the best of what Willamette Valley has to offer.  As winemakers we marvel at the complex synergy that comes from blending wine from Willamette Valley’s marquee vineyards.

ABOUT Lange Winery:

Founded in 1987, Lange Estate is a family-owned and operated winery that has established itself as a top producer in the prestigious Dundee Hills appellation of Oregon’s Northern Willamette Valley.  Farming nearly 100 acres spanning 4 distinct sites, the Langes produce Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a combination of their own sites and a few blue-ribbon growers from throughout Willamette Valley including the famed Freedom Hill Vineyard.  They have always classified their winemaking style along a more classical paradigm:  focused wines that express nuanced fruit, balance, texture and structure.

2021 Arlyn Simple Math Pinot noir - BTG $17 BLT $70

TASTING NOTES:
Nose: strawberries, cherry cola, brine, black plum, hints of forest
Palate: bright cherry, strawberry, pink pepper, blood orange with bright structure

2022 Arlyn Sol Proprietor rosé of Pinot noir - BTG $12 BTL $46

TASTING NOTES:
Salmon hue, fresh, expressive and delicate. Salinity and stone fruit. Fermented in stainless steel.

ABOUT ARLYN VINEYARD:

A Western Washington native, Janis was brought up on the family farm where she and her siblings looked after a small herd of livestock, poultry, and rabbits. She competed with her horses as part of the local 4-H club, and her mother Arlyn, a home economics teacher, and father Jack raised their children to work hard and to keep their word.

College plans to study Animal Science (at 17 she aspired to become a herdsman at the local dairy) materialized instead in degrees in Finance and Economics and led her to Risk Management for The Walt Disney Company and a 20+ year career of evaluating risk. Janis’ home was Santa Monica but she and her little rolling suitcase spent the most time traveling through LAX during those years. It was a rare treat for her to be home during daylight to enjoy a run from Venice to Malibu along the Santa Monica waterfront.

Over dinner in New York City, a dear friend questioned Janis’ singular focus on corporate life and challenged her to decide what she really wanted to do and to go do it. While the immediate answer wasn’t planting a vineyard or launching a small wine label, the decisions she made that night, walking back to her hotel along a beautiful and snowy 5th Avenue, sent her on just that path.

In 2012, the universe conspired to help Janis find a 40-acre property in the Chehalem Mountains AVA of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Its rolling landscape of classic Willakenzie sedimentary soils, hidden creek, and charming walnut trees held the promise of something special. It would need work, and a lot of it; Janis engaged local expertise and thoughtfully began to plant Pinot noir, Gamay noir, and Chardonnay, culminating in 20 acres under vine. She named the vineyard for her mother, Arlyn, and the lessons of hard work and kept promises.

Today, Arlyn is farmed organically and biodynamically, working with what Mother Nature provides. The team relies on beneficial bugs, gopher snakes, and predatory birds along with a team of barn cats to minimize pests with as little intervention as possible.

Of course, none of this happens without super knowledgeable viticulturists and crew. It is difficult to express how grateful we are for those who work tireless days giving attention to each vine and each row of cover crop and each individual winemaking partners’ requirements. Make no mistake, beautiful handcrafted wines would not be possible without our crew.

Having traded her rolling suitcase for work gloves and home-spun biodynamic soil preps, Janis can now be found walking the vineyard with adoring, four-legged best friend, Miss Cooper, observing, connecting, adjusting, and always learning — together, keeping the promise of Oregon.

WILLAMETTE VALLEY PINOT NOIR 2022  - BTL $50 BTG $12

TASTING NOTES:

A beautiful bright ruby color for this expressive wine, with aromas of blueberry, raspberry, orange peel, rose, lavender, black pepper, and morel mushroom. The palate is generous, fresh, and fruity, and the tannins are well balanced by a pleasant acidity: a wine that is alive.

WILLAMETTE VALLEY CHARDONNAY 2022  - BTL $50 BTG $12

TASTING NOTES:

A wine with a bright golden color and an elegant nose of white flowers, lemon peel, fresh almond, white pepper and vanilla, and a generous palate. The volume in the mouth is highlighted by a nice tension, fruity aromas, and a subtle minerality.

RÉSONANCE VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2016 - (BTG ONLY $18)

VINTAGE NOTES:

The growing season was especially warm and dry in 2016, giving perfect condition of maturity. The grapes were ripe and flavors well-developed. We began harvesting Pinot noir at the very beginning of September. The maceration revealed a nice concentration and intensity in the wines. These are well-balanced in 2016, with a nice aromatic complexity and harmonious tannin structure.

TASTING NOTES:

The dark and bright color of this wine is a perfect illustration of the immense character of Résonance Vineyard. With an intense and subtle nose of black cherries, wild blueberries and blackberries, cloves, noble wood and violet flagrance, the wine express an impressive depth and concentration, and full potentiel and well balanced structure.

Résonance is Maison Louis Jadot’s first wine project outside of Burgundy, France since it was founded in 1859. Résonance, is in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, nestled beneath the coast range on a dramatic hilltop in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. From un-grafted vines first planted in 1981, our Pinot noir crafted from organically farmed vineyards highlights the elegance and complexity of our unique terroir. Winemaker Guillaume Large hails from Maison Louis Jadot; at Résonance, he balances techniques learned in Burgundy with the lush terroir of the Willamette Valley to produce unique expressions of Pinot noir and Chardonnay

ABOUT winemaker, Guillaume Larges:

Guillaume Large was born in the heart of the Pouilly Fuissé appellation in 1982. Growing up his grandfather, who was a grower, shared with him his passion for vineyards and wine. Guillaume graduated with an Oenologist’s National Diploma from the Jules Guyot Institute of Dijon.  In 2011, Guillaume joined Maison Louis Jadot and became the Assistant Technical Director. In August 2017, he moved to Oregon and joined Résonance as Winemaker, working under the advisement of Jacques Lardière.
